X246a

Lamp #116
Used Optimus 1550 dating from 1995, serviced with some new parts, all new seals, tested and working. Some tarnishing to the plated brass tank, enamel loss on the heat deflector. This lamp was made in the same factory as the Petromax 500cp and a common problem is for the rivets on the frame legs to loosen, This lamp does have slightly loose frame legs and one has been repaired with a metal screw.

This lamp is fitted with the two 'must have' accessories available in the 1990's. An original double end, shockproof mantle support and polished stainless 'protector/reflector'.
The mantle support allows the use of two tie mantles supported top and bottom to resist breaking. A common problem with these big lanterns when in transit or pumping up when lighting. The support can be removed and standard single tie mantles fitted if twin tie mantles are not available.

 Lamp #116ctd
The very rare 'protector/reflector' encloses the glass in a polished stainless cover when latched closed. When folded out the protector becomes a reflector multiplying the light from the mantle twice and projecting the light forwards without overheating the lamp. A common problem when fitting clip on side reflectors.
The glass has heat damage from a previous owner running the lamp with a holed mantle. This will cause the glass to fail in the future, we can include a Base Camp heavy duty glass for the extra cost noted below if the purchasor wishes.
Serviced and tested with all new seals and supplied with Petromax service tool and spare mantle in case the fitted mantle is broken in transit.
Excellent for the experienced user looking for a reliable lamp.
